In this meeting, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, assured for Dr. Amr Salama, the Secretary General of AArU, the readiness of his country, Iraq, to host the next AArU General Assembly. In particular, both of them negotiate variety ways for supporting collaborations between Iraqi universities and other Arab universities in the process of increasing all aspects of academic collaborations between both parties, where this meeting was held in the presence of Ms. Lina Al Bitar, the Administrative Director of AArU. Moreover, Dr. Al-Aboudi stressed the keenness of the Iraqi academic institution on cooperate and coordinate with all the institutions hosted by AArU such as; the Societies of Corresponding Colleges and the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council. He also pointed out the importance of setting the necessary steps to achieve development indicators and goals and creating an environment for scientific and research partnerships between Arab universities. Finally, Dr. Al-Aboudi presented the initiative that is been launched by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research tagged (Study in Iraq), which is targeting the international students.
From his part, Dr. Salama thanked Dr. Al-Aboudi for his keenness to enable the universities of his country to establish productive partnerships and reach the highest level of response to quality requirements, striving towards international accreditation, applying modern educational tracks and programs, and achieving harmonization between university outputs and the labor market.
One more, Dr. Salama pointed out the importance of the academic impact that Iraqi universities achieved in terms of the indicators of scientific research, exchange of knowledge and specialized programs, which qualifies it to increase its competitive capabilities among the most prestigious international universities.
